Stephen A. Wright, M.D.

Stephen A. Wright, M.D. is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, shoulder and knee reconstruction and arthroscopic surgery. Dr Wright has been a sports enthusiast his entire life. His combined interests in athletics and medicine led him to pursue a career as a sports medicine physician.
A native of Joliet, Illinois, Dr. Wright received his bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa. He continued his education there, graduating from the University of Iowa College of medicine in 1990. Following his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine, Dr. Wright completed a fellowship in shoulder and knee surgery and sports medicine at the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic, in Vail, Colorado.
In addition for caring for many local high school and collegiate athletes, Dr. Wright has traveled extensively throughout Europe and South American serving as a team physician for the United States Alpine Ski Team. Dr. Wright served as a physician for the bobsled and skeleton events at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.
A board certified member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Wright maintains active membership in the Indiana State Medical Association and the Fort Wayne Medical and Orthopaedic societies.
Dr Wright is married and has five children. He enjoys snow skiing, kayaking, windsurfing, bicycling and swimming.
